An Epic Alabang Staycation at B Hotel
I love staycations!
Getting away from it all without having to leave the city allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds, and this was definitely the case when I checked in at B Hotel in Alabang, which was just a stones throw away from where I live. This was convenient for the weekend-long staycation, as I could still check up on Mr. Wiggles every night, make sure he has enough water in his bowl and gets fed and walked, before heading back to hotel to get some shuteye.
This was one epic staycation, and I have the Queen of the South, Mama J and her fambam, to thank for for having me over and treating me to some Bellevue hospitality.
B Hotel is the three-star business hotel owned and operated by the Bellevue Hotel & Resort. Tucked away behind Madrigal Business Park, this is the perfect spot for executives or expats with businesses near or around the Alabang area who fly in for meetings or training, and who need the basic amenities and comfort of a soft bed, clean sheets, a TV, and a hot breakfast (or dinner, if they work at one of the many BDOs along Northgate) to start (or end) the day.
The lobby is simple, modern and inviting, and these three adjectives are what comes to mind when exploring the hotel space.
I checked early with Jericho and Justice into the Penthouse Suite, which features a features a living area, a master’s bedroom, and bathroom with a spacious bathtub. Checking in was pretty fast, and I was soon headed up to the top floor of the hotel to one of the eight spacious suites.
The overall space was nice and cozy, with big glass windows letting a lot of light in, overlooking the rest of Alabang. If you're here on business, this is a pretty nice place to entertain guests after office hours, preferably a few bottles of wine after getting dinner?
The penthouse also comes with a small kitchenette and dining table. You can call the concierge to request for an electric stove and a frying pan if you want to cook, which is rarely the case, and there's a microwave that comes with the
All penthouse bedrooms feature a bug, king-sized bed, which fits three full-sized adults comfortably. And here I was thinking of kicking Jericho out of the bed and onto the couch.
Opposite of the bed is a writing desk, if you need to get work done after office hours, as well as a TV mounted to the wall. If you have kids with you they may be disappointed as most of the channels available are the local, movie, and news channels. No Disney, sorry!
The bathroom is small and simple, with a bathtub, sink, and toilet - nothing too fancy. The same goes for their toiletries, although I appreciate the scent they come in is green tea. With most hotels I've stayed at, the complimentary bath products always seem to smell so musky, so this was a nice reprieve from the usually overpowering hotel scents.
They don't usually do this for guests, so we were so happy when the Bellevue sent over one of their most, decadent chocolate cakes. This was covered in chocolate from top to bottom, which made me one very happy bunny!
We had breakfast at Prime Cafe Saturday morning, which was alright. The set up is very simple, but I enjoyed what we call an English fry up of English bangers, eggs, baked beans, bacon, and toast - or in my case, croissants. The bacon is done strictly by request, so before you throw a hissy fit about there being no bacon on the buffet line, ask one of the servers first. Save the hissy fit for when they tell you they're out of the stuff!
With B Hotel being squirreled away all the way in the corner of Madrigal Business Park, getting to and from the place can be quite the pain in the butt. It's a good thing that B Hotel's management already thought of that problem and have hourly shuttle services that can take guests around the Alabang area. As we spent a lot of our time going to and from B Hotel and Bellevue, we used their shuttle service a lot. So if you see the incredibly sweet Benju, say hi!
Both the B Hotel and Bellevue have art exhibits going on every now and them, which makes for nice conversation pieces while waiting for the shuttle and sipping on a cold glass of fresh juice - the perfect solution to combat the summer heat.
When mucking around Manila and thinking of taking a short break, or looking for a place to stay while at that important convention down south, head out to Alabang and book a suite at B Hotel. It's near shopping and eating areas like the Alabang Town Center and Molito and 15 minutes away from the South Super Highway - that way you can take a break while never really being too far away!
