You need to be KYC'ed GCash subscriber to use the service. KYC is the 'Know-Your-Customer' process which is the one-time face-to-face validation of your identity and to ensure security of your mobile money transactions.
For prepaid subscribers, you need to visit the nearest Globe store, present a valid ID and you will get KYC’ed after 48 hrs. You may apply for the GCash American Express Virtual Card by then.
For postpaid subscribers, you just need to call 2882 using your Globe phone (it's a free service) to get KYC’ed. Globe will be validating your identity based on the documents you submitted when you applied for your postpaid account. After that's said and done, you may apply for the GCash American Express Virtual Card after 24 hrs upon calling our hotline.
After your one month free trial, you'll have to choose from the following subscription plans if you want to keep your virtual Amex card going:
- One (1) month - P25
- Six (6) months - P140
- One (1) year - P250
Not bad, eh? It's way cheaper than maintaining a real credit card if you ask me and great for when I'm mucking around online drooling over the upcoming Black Friday sales!
